A glorious product!

Between Target and Walmart, Target has to be my fave store to shop at. My first stop is at the cosmetic aisles and perfume aisles. At first I noticed pink containers and I thought nothing of it. Passing by it so many times made me look and see what it was all about. At that time nobody really talked about Soap and Glory (or at least I didn't pay attention) and I disregarded that line. Now my mind is all about "Where can I get it" since almost everyone raves about it. Since Target discontinued that line, I am forced to shop at Sephora. I managed to get ONE of the last two Dr. Spot when it was on sale in Target. I like Sephora but sometimes they can over price items and I think they managed to do that with Soap and Glory. My obsession will get the best of me and I will surely cave in and buy a few products. Here are only some of the things they offer.

Dr. Spot is what I use for my acne. I don't break out as much as I used to but this product helps me maintain a somewhat clear skin. Righteous body butter seems to be the most raved about since they claim it smells like a Juicy Couture perfume. Flake away is raved to scrub all the impurities off your skin and leave a nice soft glow. Until I try them I will know for sure what they do for me since everyone is different.

To infinity, and beyond!

Recently I've seen a Galaxy trend splatter over the clothing shelves. At first I was a little hesitant but now I have seen the stars. As of this moment, I have a deep obsession with the latest trend of galaxy prints that had surfaced over the past year. They’re on pants, skirts, tights, dresses, tops, shoes, etc – you name it, and there is bound to be a cosmic print on it.

Don't get spooked!

I may be jumping the gun a little too far in advanced but I could not help myself. Day of the Dead or Dia de los Muertos is a Mexican tradition where people believe their souls live on in the spiritual world called Mictlan. Families leave food, toys, sentimental objects or whatever their deceased loved one once cherished to make them happy.

It is celebrated on the 1st and 2nd day of November. The first of November is reserved for the little dead Angels. The souls of the children are said to come back and visit their loved ones while they "eat" the food they once loved. The second of November is reserved for the souls of the Adults. Usually they accompany their loved ones and "eat" the food offered to them.

October wish list!

These items are things I've been eyeing for quite some time but somehow I always end up purchasing something else. Hopufully, this will keep my mind on track.

Jeffrey Campbell or Jessica Simpson?

Ever since I started searching for fashion street trends, I kept seeing alot of retro shoes. Jeffrey Campbell has got to be my number one shoe obsession. So much so, that even though I am 5'7" 1/2 ft tall, I still bought five inch platforms from Jeffrey. Still on the lookout for more, now I come across Jessica Simpson shoes. Jeffrey Campbell's Foxywood and Jessica Simpson's Dany platforms are really similar. Jeffrey is in the lead with about $20-$40 price range above Simpson, Jeffrey has real wood and Jeffrey has thicker heels because of the real wood. I still much prefer Jeffrey.

Big or Small?

Recently I purchase my very first pair of circle lens from CandyLens and I am thrilled. I've looked at soooo many lenses on the net that I finally caved and bought my own. I wanted something natural to match my eyes. Of course, cirlce lens are NOT natural but I still had to keep it minimal. These bottom pics were the ones that pushed me over the edge.

D.I.Y.: Pore strips to remove blackheads

First you need to understand what blackheads are. Blackheads form when hair follicles on the skin get clogged with excess oil and dead skin cells. Your body produces oil through hair follicles to moisturize and protect the skin and releases it on the surface. When oil builds up, it pools to collect dirt and dead skin cells. If not washed off, the oil falls back into the pore and forms a clog known as a comedone. When a comedone has an opening at the surface, it appears darker; this is a blackhead. Using a home remedy of gelatin and milk creates a sticky compound capable of pulling out the clog and freeing the pore.
(If you want to see this in action, minus the Oil, check out Michelle Phan's tutorial here.)

Ingredients (as pictured above):
1 1/2 tbsp. Milk (Whatever type you prefer)
1 tbsp unflavored gelatin
2-3 drops of Vitamin E oil (Optional)
Small bowl

Steps:
1. Mix milk and Gelatin into small bowl.

2. Microwave for 10 seconds.

3. Dip your fingers into the bowl, and coat your face with the gelatin.

4. Leave the gelatin mask on your nose, t-zone, cheeks or chin for 20 minutes or until it dries completely. The mask will feel stiff when dried.

5. Pull the mask off. As the gelatin comes off the skin, it will take the dirt, dead skin cells and clogs with it.

6. Rinse your face well, pat dry and follow with a moisturizer. If you would like, smear on a tiny layer of Vitamin E oil on your face. Vitamin E is supposed to make a good natural anti-oxidant for the skin, and its good for lightening scars, acne marks and fine lines.

World Peace!

Summer of Love festival 07'

Wouldn't the world be a better place if peace existed in every single one of us? Peace is defined as "a state of harmony characterized by the lack of violent conflict" but how can we do that if we insist on harming ourselves and others. Churches, friends, inner peace and many other groups offer help for those who look for it. I'm not talking about hippy love with sex, drugs and conflict, I'm just talking about peace and love.

If you really want to make a difference check these organizations out and take a look for yourself.

Happy 4th of July!

Independence Day, commonly known as the Fourth of July, is a federal holiday in the United States commemorating the adoption of the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776, declaring independence from the Kingdom of Great Britain. Independence Day is commonly associated with fireworks, parades, barbecues, carnivals, fairs, picnics, concerts, baseball games, family reunions, political speeches and ceremonies, and various other public and private events celebrating the history, government, and traditions of the United States. Independence Day is the national day of the United States.

If you want to try a neat way of making your own Declaration of Independence look old and tattered, check out this DIY tutorial by Jaimelyn11.

To dye or not to dye?

To dye or not to dye? That is the question. I've always wanted to dye my hair but I could never decide in what color. Red used to be my top fave but after searching Google I've discovered many different other colors. Perhaps I can dye the tips in case I don't like it, I can cut it off. I'm still undecided but meanwhile I'll refer back to these pics.

A tribal touch!

Tribal clothing, tribal-y hair, tribal nails is all you see right now. I'm getting obsessed with it really and I want to do something about it. These tribal nails will definitely make me feel "in" the fashion world. (Though I can't really call myself a fashionista because I just like clothes. Enjoy!!
